The CerviLenz device is a new tool for your preterm birth toolkit! Is she in preterm labor? Is her cervix shortening? Does she have a short cervix? With immediate and actionable results, the CerviLenz procedure gives clinicians a reliable cervical length measurement at the point of care – and that knowledge empowers clinicians to manage their services and patients more efficiently and effectively.

• CERVICAL LENGTH FOR ALL: with the recent advances in progesterone therapy, there is a growing need for cervical length measurements even during routine pregnancy management. For high risk patients, monitoring cervical shortening is critical. And, emerging practice for preterm labor triage is to measure cervical length in the initial assessment followed by selective fetal fibronectin analysis, which research shows can significantly reduce cost and unnecessary admissions.
• THE PROBLEM: in most practices and hospitals, transvaginal ultrasound isn’t an option for measuring cervical length at a moment’s notice. Fetal fibronectin isn’t always an option either, given its many contraindications. Both transvaginal ultrasound and fetal fibronectin are expensive.
